You Want a Change… But What Are You Doing About It?

Have you ever had a dream, a clear goal, a strong desire—yet it remained just a thought in your mind? Maybe you’ve told yourself you want a better career. More time for yourself. Or to grow your business.

And yet, time passes, and things stay the same.

The truth is simple, yet uncomfortable: if you want something you don’t currently have, your current path isn’t leading you there. And changing direction often requires stepping into the unknown.

Fear Is Real—But So Is Opportunity

This article continues the topic in my previous one – dedicated to identofying the ideal lifestyle and business – and goes to the next step. After you know what you want, you need to take action.

It’s natural to feel fear when considering a big change. Fear of failure, fear of judgment, fear of success (yes, really), fear of stepping outside your comfort zone. But what if, instead of only looking at what could go wrong, you also considered what could go right?

When working with my clients, I help them analyze not only the risks of taking action but also the cost of not acting. What are you missing out on by staying in the same place? What opportunities are slipping through your fingers simply because fear is holding you back?

The Invisible Boundaries of Your Comfort Zone

We all have that inner voice that whispers excuses:

  • “But it’s too risky…”
  • “I don’t have enough time…”
  • “I’m not ready yet…”

These are not just passing thoughts; they are the invisible boundaries of your comfort zone. They keep you in a familiar reality—one that might feel safe but isn’t bringing you what you truly want.

Growth demands discomfort. It requires new actions, new perspectives, and a willingness to step beyond the safety of routine. If nothing changes, nothing changes.

The Myth of Complete Readiness

Many people believe they need to feel completely ready before they take action. They wait for the perfect moment, the right mindset, the ideal conditions. But the truth? Complete readiness is a myth.

Successful people don’t wait until they feel ready. They act despite uncertainty, despite fear. They understand that fear is good, useful, it can teach you a lot of things, but sometimes you have to act even if you are afraid. A small step outside your comfort zone can lead to amazing results!

Ask Yourself These Three Questions

If you feel stuck, here’s a simple exercise to gain clarity:

  1. What would you do differently if you knew you couldn’t fail?
  2. What is the first step you’ve been postponing, even though you know it would bring you closer to your goal?
  3. What daily compromises are keeping you from reaching your full potential?

Take a moment to reflect on these. Be honest with yourself. Often, the answers reveal the exact changes you need to make.

The Difference Between Wanting and Doing

I’ve been there too. I’ve postponed important decisions. I’ve found the perfect excuses. Until I realized that the gap between where I was and where I wanted to be wasn’t about knowing more—it was about having the courage to act differently.

One of my clients, for example, had been writing for years but never took the next step to publish their work. They feared putting themselves out there, worried that some people wouldn’t like their books. But with my guidance, they also saw the other side—the people who would love their work, the fulfillment of achieving a dream, and the opportunities that would come with it. They faced they fear, took action, and today they are a published author with three books to their name.

How a Business Coach Can Help

Are you REALLY willing to do what is necessary to reach your goals?

Change is hard, but you don’t have to do it alone. As a business coach, I help my clients navigate the fear, assess both risks and rewards, and create a strategy that turns aspirations into reality. I help my clients get a clear vision of their business, strategise their actions, skills and more. Whether it’s launching a business, freelancing, writing a book, or growing the business and increasing profits, I provide guidance, structure, and the accountability needed to push beyond limitations.

Maybe today is the moment to ask yourself honestly: Are you truly willing to do what it takes?
